Brown Fused Alumina

Brown Fused Alumina is electrically fused in an arc furnace from a mixture of bauxite, coke (anthracite) which is as the main raw materials at high temperature. Its chemical composition contains Al2O3, a small amount of TiO2, SiO2, and Fe2O3, etc, micro hardness: 1800-2200kg/mm², toughness is higher than silicon carbide. The product which made of Brown Fused Alumina is suitable for grinding metal with high-tensile strength such as steel, annealed malleable iron and hard bronze etc. Brown Fused Alumina can also be used for making high-standard refractory products.

The universal particle sizes range is F4-F220. Particle sizes could be produced according to GB and different countries’ standards. Its chemical composition changes depending on its particle sizes. Its prominent characteristic is small crystal size and impact resistance. Most of particles are spherical. It also has other characteristics like high purity, dense texture, high bulk density, strong self-sharpening, good toughness, low content of magnetic material. It is applied to produce vitrified wheels, resin bonded abrasives, and also used for grinding, polishing, etc. Except GB Standard, we could produce Brown Fused Alumina according to ISO, ANSI, FEPA, JIS and customers’ specific requirements.
